Also this year, Roseto degli Abruzzi is the winner of the 2019 Pediatrician’s Green Flag, along with other 142 Italian coastal towns. This important recognition is given to seaside locations with child-friendly facilities and services, and is selected through a survey conducted among a sample of pediatricians.
What are the fundamental rules for achieving such a goal? Clear and shallow water near the shore, fine sand ideal for building castles and towers and, most importantly, the watchful presence of lifeguards and rescue boats. Play areas, animation, hygienic services and child care equipment also play a fundamenta role, as well as the presence of ice cream parlors, bars and restaurants nearby.
Ten Green Flags were assigned to Abruzzo this year, making this region particularly proud. The other coastal towns which received this recognition are: Giulianova, Alba Adriatica, Tortoreto, Pineto, Silvi Marina, Montesilvano, Pescara, Ortona and Vasto Marina. “We are honored to have received, for the eighth consecutive year, the Green Flag recognised by the Italian pediatricians of SIPPS (Italian Society of Preventive and Social Pediatrics),” says Sabatino Di Girolamo, Mayor of Roseto degli Abruzzi.
This is the testimony of the great concern this wonderful city has for important issues like the environment, tourism and the increasing quality of services. This is a source of pride for all the citizens of the beautiful city of Roseto, which is once again at the forefront of seaside life excellence also with its Blue Flag.
